Job Summary:
Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas, a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation is seeking an experienced and accountable Director of Contracts for our Camas, Washington facility.
The Director of Contracts is responsible for: the structuring and administration of contractual relationships between SMA and its customers, factories, and other SC operating business units. In addition, provides strategic support for SMA and GOC in importing, exporting and warehousing of product, develops and recommends least cost alternatives.
Job Responsibilities:
The individual selected for this position must possess the ability to perform the following:
- Negotiates corporate contracts and non-disclosure agreements; ensures that SMA contracts are properly structured, meeting policy requirements and legally representing and protecting the company.
- Familiarity with outsourced warehousing function to provide global service to customers and their contract manufacturers through hub warehousing structure; maintains a deep understanding of financial transactions (e.g. what constitutes a sale) in order to properly document and account for transactions using GAAP consistently applied.
- Develops and submits fiscal budget for internal and outsourced services.
- Directly supports sales management to assist in meeting fiscal period/fiscal year sales and shipping targets by providing inventory status and transportation availability.
- Maintains a high level of knowledge of import/export laws, tariffs, duty free zones, NAFTA and other international trade laws, and related legal parameters that directly impact SMA's ability to do business legally and profitably.
- Performs and/or participates in other miscellaneous projects as directed.
Job Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in business administration or related equivalent experience, plus 8-10 years experience in establishing and managing contracts administration processes, supply chain management systems and support of sales and marketing teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills. Excellent computer skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
