SMA strives for environmental excellence while providing a healthy and safe workplace for our employees, contractors and surrounding community. Together, we can advance sustainability in the workplace, be more aware of the world around us, and build a brighter future through our commitment to the environment. | We’re proud to be just the second company in Washington State to achieve the ISO 14001 standard of environmental management. ISO 14001 certification requires constant vigilance to preserve our land, air, and water. Since initial certification in 1997, SMA has demostrated our deep commitment to protecting our environment through constant, measureable improvements in operations. | Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (or RoHS) in electrical and electronic equipment was adopted in 2003 by the European Union. Sharp meets these stringent environmental standards and is dedicated to reducing the creation of toxic e-waste. SMA strives to comply with and meet applicable regulations and requirements, prevent pollution, enhance environmental awareness and continue to improve. |
